Deck Railing Installation in New Jersey
Cube Carpentry installs deck railing systems throughout New Jersey for new decks, resurfacing projects, stairs and railing upgrades.
Railing Is Part of the Complete Deck Design
Railings affect safety, views, stairs, gates and the visual character of the finished deck. We plan railing post locations with the framing, fascia, borders and stairs so the system works with the structure instead of being added as an afterthought.
Railing Systems We Work With
- RDI aluminum railings
- Westbury railings
- Key-Link railings
- Privacy railing sections
- Other appropriate railing systems based on project requirements
Compatible with Our Main Decking Brands
We coordinate railing systems with Fiberon and WOLF—our two primary decking brands—as well as Trex, Deckorators and TimberTech.
How We Plan Railing Posts, Stairs and Gates
A good railing installation starts below the finished decking. Post locations need proper framing and blocking so the railing can be securely attached and so posts do not interfere with picture-frame borders, fascia or stair framing. On new decks, we plan these locations before the decking goes down. On resurfacing projects, we inspect the existing attachment areas and add or correct blocking where the scope requires it.
Stair railings require additional coordination because post placement, stair width, tread layout and landings all affect the finished system. Gates and privacy sections also need to be planned around openings, traffic flow and the framing available for secure attachment. We coordinate those details with the selected railing manufacturer instead of treating the railing as a separate cosmetic item.
Choosing a Railing Style
Black aluminum is a popular choice when homeowners want a clean, low-maintenance railing that keeps the view open. Privacy sections can be useful around hot tubs, neighboring properties or specific seating areas without enclosing the entire deck. We help compare the appearance, maintenance and layout of the available systems with the decking color and architecture of the home.
Deck Railing FAQs
Can you replace railings without rebuilding the whole deck?
In some cases, yes. The existing framing and attachment points must be evaluated first to determine whether a railing-only upgrade is appropriate.
Can you add gates or privacy sections?
Yes. Gates and targeted privacy sections can be coordinated with the main railing system and deck framing.
